Septic Tank Pumping

Septic Tank Pumping and Cleaning

Regular pumping is essential to maintain the health of your septic system. Red Dirt Septic provides efficient pumping services for both aerobic and conventional systems. Our technicians use tools like the Sludge Judge to assess sludge and scum levels, ensuring timely maintenance.

Septic System Pumping

Contrary to popular belief, septic tanks need to be pumped on a regular basis to ensure the proper function of the tank and preserve the life of the lateral lines. How often you should pump your tank depends on usage and is best determined by the number of people using the system.  You can reference the following chart to find the suggested pumping frequency for conventional septic systems.

Aerobic System Pumping

Aerobic system trash tanks in Oklahoma typically range from 400-500 gallons.  Periodic monitoring of sludge and scum levels in the trash tank is important to prevent debris buildup in the ATU (aerobic treatment unit) and the pump tank which can lead to more pumping expense and costly repairs.  Alternatively, there is no benefit in pumping an aerobic septic system that does not need it and we’ll tell you when that is the case.

All of our service technicians carry a Sludge Judge to easily check the status of your system.  Call us today!
