At Red Dirt Septic, we’re not just dabbling in aerobic systems. We install more septic systems than anyone in Oklahoma – by a long shot. So, if you’re searching for septic system installers in Oklahoma you have come to the right place.
We install every type of septic system approved by the DEQ (Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality) including conventional systems, aerobic systems and lagoons. We will come onsite to determine which type of system best fits your property, at no charge. You can learn more about each septic system type below.
When lot restrictions and poor soil conditions demand something other than a conventional lateral system, aerobic systems often offer the best solution.
Red Dirt Septic is proud to be an authorized Jet Systems installer. Jet Systems developed the very first aerobic system almost 70 years ago and still leads the industry today with an advanced system that is superior to other systems in the market. High quality water treatment and component reliability make the Jet System our choice in aerobics. You can check out the Jet System at: jetincorp.com. We’re committed to the long-term performance of your aerobic system. DEQ regulations require two years of warranty and maintenance of your new aerobic system (every 6 months) at no charge. Unlike most installers in Oklahoma, we fulfill that requirement on every installation and offer a continuing maintenance program after year 2 to ensure the proper operation of your system for life.
At Red Dirt Septic, we won’t cut corners. Careful system layout and proper installation using quality materials are essential to ensure worry-free operation.
Homebuilders and homeowners often learn all the integral elements of an aerobic installation after the installer has come and gone, failing to complete the job. Our goal is to completely finish the installation to the highest standards, anticipating that we will maintain the system for the life of the home. We want to educate you on all of the facets of an installation so all expectations are met.
On-Site Review
A Red Dirt representative will meet you onsite to discuss the layout of the system and installation procedures. That discussion should include the following:
Electrical Requirements
Most aerobic systems require a dedicated 110 amp electrical disconnect on a 20-amp breaker.
How long will the installation take and how long will my system be down?
Typically, aerobic installations are completed in one day. On some occasions our cover-up crew may finish the installation on a second day. When we replace existing systems, your home is usually out of sewer service for less than half a day.
What will my lawn look like?
Expect to replace sod in the area of the installation. We’re bringing in heavy equipment and excavating a lot of dirt. We will smooth the soil as neatly as possible, but expect to see a large area of dirt around the installation site.
What about my sprinkler system?
Heavy equipment operators can not avoid digging into irrigation lines and sprinkler heads. We will try our best to identify damaged sprinkler lines or components, but plan on calling your irrigation company to make any necessary repairs and test the irrigation system.
Yikes! The tank settled!
It is normal for dirt to settle around tanks. Only time and weathering can fully compact the soil around tanks. We highly recommend backfilling around the tanks with sand at the installation when possible. While sand will still settle, the effects will be minimal in comparison.
We will be back.
We want to meet the homeowner after installation for an orientation on the system. Please call our office to arrange a time and date.
When a good absorption field is available, a conventional septic system is often the most efficient and economical septic application.
The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), requires a soil test(Form 581) to determine the type and size of system that will accommodate the daily flow or anticipated water usage. A certified soil tester can use a perc test or soil profile to determine the capacity of the soil to absorb water. Contact Red Dirt for help locating a soil tester in your area.
Lateral systems approved in Oklahoma include the traditional perforated pipe and gravel and the innovative chamber system.
Evap-Transpiration Absorption System. When a test reveals that soil does not “perc”, an ETA system may be the best option. ETAs are constructed by adding washed sand and good topsoil to conventional lateral lines.
The life of a lateral system can range from 20 to 40 years depending on several factors including soil conditions, system capacity compared to usage and how the system was maintained. Remedies include:
Prior to investing in a septic system upgrade, make sure there are no impediments to the function of your existing system. Check the sewer and feed lines for breaks or clogs. Inspect household fixtures for leaks. We recommend a food color test for toilets. (Add food color to the tank and see if it bleeds into the bowl.)
